Congratulations to Marj and Steve Williams who celebrated their Ruby Wedding Anniversary by renewing their marriage vows and having rings blessed during the 8:30am Service on Sunday 7 September 2014.  The congregation was able to congratulate Marj and Steve on 40 years of marriage and on their renewal of their love for and commitment to each other.

Love and best wishes to you both from all your friends at Immanuel

Thank you to the family of the late Mrs Edith Aspinall RIP, a long time member of Immanuel, who bought the new commemorative silver trophy for our annual Bowling Competition in Edith's memory and which was presented to Dan and Ryan, our 2014 winners by two of her Great Grandchildren.

Pamela Lumb
14th Jan 1939 – 14th July 2014
It is with great sadness to hear that Pam has passed away in hospital in Northumberland. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many.
The meaning of the name Pamela is “sweetness” and this is a perfect description for a lovely lady who was respected, known and loved both in Feniscowles and Immanuel Church.
Feniscowles was Pam's home from the age of six and many will know her mother and father, George and Ethel Stamper as they also attended Immanuel church. Pam attended Feniscowles Primary School, then Chorley Grammar school. Many people of the parish will have gone to school with her, played with her in the village or known her from church.
She married Eric and they had two children, Andrew and Alison and two granddaughters, Kathryn and Rebecca. Pam and Eric lived in Langdale Road and loved living by the canal  where they could watch the boats sailing by. They eagerly awaited each year to see if the swans would have any cygnets and loved seeing the new family gliding past the bottom of their garden.
As a regular parishioner, Pam shared the pew on Sundays with Edith Aspinall and Marje Williams, just two of her many friends. Sadly her beloved  Auntie Edith passed away just before Pam moved to Alnmouth. Pam was also a member of the Ladies Circle and Mother's Union and supported most functions at Church by helping in the charity shop, baking cakes or helping out in the kitchen. In fact at garden parties etc both she and Marje would bake a cake for the cake stall but end up buying each other's before they even reached the fete!!
Pam loved her daily walk, when she was able, and she would talk with passing strangers about the weather etc.  So many people will have missed seeing her on her walks but will never forget the lovely lady who always stopped to chat with them.
She moved up to Alnmouth,Northumberland with her husband Eric, to be near their daughter Alison as their health was beginning to deteriorate. They moved into a lovely cottage overlooking the river estuary and the sea in the pretty village of Alnmouth.

Pam will be missed by us all, but we will always remember the way in which she enriched all our lives just by being there. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the members of her family.
A memorial service for Pam was held at Immanuel Church at 11:30am  on Friday 8th August 2014. All were welcome to attend.

“We never lose the ones we love, they stay in our hearts forever.”

We are grateful to David for all that he has given to Immanuell over the years and to his continuing ministry.
